I’m not sure I’ve understood this question, so correct me if I have, but if you mean on social media, we think that teenagers search for other people like themselves that share certain traits. For example, if you are alternative, you might search for Billie Eilish because she has a lot of characteristics that teenagers with that sense of style would consider important. Although, teenagers also like to explore, so if you do not dress with an alternative style but might like to, you could also use social media as a way of trying out new identities.
