Hi, our cyberpsychology lab is a place where we run psychological experiments with lots of new and exciting technology, like virtual reality and video games. We’ve also got some new kit which allows us to do cool things like measure people’s heart rates or detect what they’re looking at. Some of our most recent studies have looked at whether we can use virtual reality to help people overcome phobias. In one study we looked at fear of public speaking and created a virtual environment where people could practice their speeches in front of a virtual audience, and we found that this helped to make people feel better prepared for the real thing.
