When we give non-human stuff human characteristics
There are some jokey cartoons that illustrate it when you Google the word 🙂

A good illustration of anthropomorphism would be in Toy Story in which toys (inanimate objects) not only come to life and start talking and walking, but they also have feelings and needs and goals and personalities.

Attributing human like characteristics to non-human objects and animals. I’ve done some research recently where we found that some people anthropomorphize their smartphones and we think this is really interesting, because it suggests that they have an emotional relationship rather than a purely practical one, with this type of technology
