      My work is more a study rather than an experiment. In an experiment you will manipulate something called the independent variable, and this will have an effect (we hope) on the dependent variable. My work isn’t like this, although I will create conditions such as focus groups, and then analyse the outcomes. We tend to call experiments quantitative (to do with numbers) and the work I do is qualitative (not about numbers, but about behaviours, feelings and experiences).
