When I was younger I definitely preferred dogs to cats. But now I’m not so sure. After living for several years with my boyfriend who is a ‘cat-person’ and being shown countless cat-doing-trick videos, I now find cats really cute and could see myself having a cat one day.

Dogs. We have a two year old sprocker spaniel called Poppy. She’s really gentle and loves walking/running about.

Oh no! I love them both! I like their differences – cats for their independence (and they generally need less upkeep!) and dogs for their loving, enthusiastic natures (and the fact they force you to go for walks and get some exercise!). That’s a bit of a ‘cop out’ answer, I’m afraid – but it’s true!

I usually prefer dogs as I’ve had them all through my childhood, but some of my friends have dogs who are also very cute!

Definitely dogs, I’ve got two beautiful Shih Tzu boys called Buddy and Roscoe and they always make me smile

Both, I’m afraid. I grew up with both and I love both. Now that I live away from my parents, I don’t have any pets of my own yet (because I live in a flat and I don’t really think it would be fair). I think I would be most likely to get a cat first because they are less dependent on you and they tie you down less. However, once I have children, I would like to get a dog as well. I would really love to get a Maine Coon cat and a Samoyed dog, but it’s much better to adopt, if you can.
